Description

Linden sapwood is located in the inner part of the bark. It is the living zone of the tree situated between the hard wood at the center of the trunk and the bark.

The sapwood is separated from the bark and dried. Only the trunks and large branches are used.

It contains amino acids, fraxoside, phenolic acids, esculoside, and tannins. This part is the richest in active compounds, and sap circulates through it.

Consequently, the sapwood is harvested during the rise of the sap to preserve as many active compounds as possible.

Traditionally used to support the body's elimination functions, linden sapwood particularly helps with the renal excretion of water.
