Description

Maca, also called Andean ginseng, Peruvian ginseng and Peruvian poppy, originates from the Peruvian High Andes, where it is cultivated at an altitude of 3,500 m to 4,200 m.

Maca is related to the radish and has a sharp, characteristic smell. Its root, called a rhizome, is used in this food supplement and looks similar to a parsnip.

Maca acts mainly as a tonic and a source of energy, but also as a stimulant of sexual desire.

It is also used for its properties during menopause. It is known to contribute to bone health and strength during menopause.
